Still in awe of all of you. Grace, class and courage. Wow. Want to jump in. My voice is not as strong as your is yet...but surrounded by you amazing warriors for the cause, I know that I will get there. Frankly, that is the only choice we have, isnt it. Where do I start? If there are any fundraising opportunities or slilent acutions, I can donate some vacation stay to auction to the highest bidder. CureSearch just used some our our resorts for their 36 campaign and it brougt in big bucks, If there is anything you need in Orlando, please let me know. And if you know of a cancer mom in the area, that would also be a gift to me.
Thanks. You are brave and beautiful and making a difference.
You are in my heart and prayers.

Just found your site. When my son Matthew was diagnosed with a brain stem glioma, in 1994, there was no computer for us and hardly anyone to talk to. But that didn't stop me. I was a nurse at the time, and he was in the hospital, all hospitals have medical libraries, so that is where I spent a lot of time the day that he was diagnosed. I read everything I could find about his diagnosis. I noticed that one doctor from Duke University wrote or cowrote every paper and artical. His phone # at the Brain Tumor Clinic, or so I thought, was published along with the papers. I called and HE returned my call personally within 15 mins!!!! We left for Duke the next day to meet with Dr Freidman. His path of treatment gave is 2 and a half years with Matthew, One of those in remission. That was 25 months longer than his first pediatric oncologist. And when Matt's time was getting near, Dr Freidman and his associate told me to page them everytime I needed too. I did, and they told me exactly what to expect next and next and next... I would not have had it any other way. There is no easy way to watch your child pass, but I had angels with me, and still do.

My sweet five year old daughter was diagnosed last year with DIPG brain cancer. Her hair has always been her prized posession and she has said she wants to grow it to the floor. Since radiation she has lost the majority of the underneath of her hair but it hasn't stopped her fighting! I asked her the other night if she wanted me to shave my head and she said yes. I answered ok let's do it and she quickly told me NO you'd look too silly! I'd shave my head in a heart beat if I knew it would make her feel better! I'd love to be part of the 46 Mommas and stand proud to be the mother of a child fighing a monster!! God bless you all and your sweet babies!

About five years ago I worked for a company to get funds for children with cancer and when I figured out they only got 3% of income, I quit. Then I began to make crafts for children and parents and was not getting to far too fast. When I got a mammogram, after biopsy and prayed to God if you want me to have cancer there is a reason and you will help me throught it. Being a disciple for Jesus I have a non fearing voice for Jesus Love. The cancer has helped me to meet many people who had or have cancer. Because I have the Joy of the Lord I have a strong positive witness. Now cancer has become more rampid. I found an article "Shave for The Brave." Ive decided to stayed bald to raise money for cancer research. If you have any literature you can send me for proof to raise funds. Id like to get our teens at church to have fund raisers to help reach 1 million dollars. Ive been going through chemo for breast cancer. I have two more treatments to go. I really want to help raise funds anyway I can. But I want some kind of proof for people to show legal print out lf real cause. Is that possible??? Agape,Smiles,Arlid

I work at UTSA and often park next to your vehicle. I saw the writing and had to know more so I tried to find Rayley's story on line and it brought me to this website. What a touching story you have. I have a two year old son and can only imagine what you have experienced. Rayley looks so beautiful and happy in the pictures and I know she brought such joy to your life. Bless this little angel and your entire family!

My choice (which wasn't really a hard one) to shave my head was the one that was the easiest in all of the decisions that need to be made in the lives of my children.
My daughter, Lynzie - 3 years old, was diagnosed with Bi-lateral Wilms tumors in Sept 2010. We have had surgery to remove the left kidney and part of the right kidney. Now we are in the waiting stage to see if any tumors will return. We know that God has a special plan for her and no matter what it is, we are ready to battle it.
I wish we could've been a part of the 2011 class but hey, it's okay maybe next year!!
Kuddos to all you mom's out there!! YOU ROCK!!

Thank you for shaving the way and offering so many of us courage, most especially your children!
May you remember the powerful mommas you are, always! Your love moves mountains!

I actually was able to get my 4-year-old daughter Kimiko to be excited about losing her hair when I said I would shave my head too and we would have a big wig party.
I would love to join you for the next shaving event. Kimi has said it's okay to let my hair grow for now (she says I look ugly without hair, but that she looks "good").
I felt a bit alone until I heard about you. I am the only bald mommy I have seen.

The 46 bald mammas are Anges sent by God! Just this past Monday we shaved our 3yr old who was diagnosed on Oct. 12 with ALL. I think what your group is doing, is absolutely wonderful. People don't realize though, that there are soo many different types of cancers out there. It's very comforting knowing that outside businessess, and just people who can give, donate to help support research around the world. I am a 3 year survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and I wish you continued success with your campaign!!

Dear Mommas! Thank you for all you are doing to lead this evening of celebration and focus on this heart breaking disease. My grandson was diagnosed with JMML at 10 months in 2007. Through all of the wonderful research done at Duke, University of Alabama Birmingham, and the excellent staff at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, SC, he had a stem cell transplant and has been leukemia free for 3 years now. The treatments and research are unbelievably expensive, but they do work. You are making a difference in the lives of many children tonight and I thank God for each of you. May He richly bless you and your precious children!

Hi there! I'm just a Momma who follows your site, which I found out about from my friend Amy, who lost her darling little Benny four years ago to Neuroblastoma. I will be thinking of you all tomorrow as you shave your heads. What a great way to come together and share your stories to try to make things better for everyone else, even through your experiences of deep loss.
You are not only raising a lot of money, which is practical, but on a more spiritual level, you are reminding us all to hug and kiss our kids more. My son will be getting about a dozen kisses as I leave him at his first day of kindergarten tomorrow. Thank you for reminding me not to take any day for granted! Much love and peace to all of you.

Moms, how brave. You and your beautiful children will be the intention of my daily rosary every day. The rosary is the most powerful prayer you can say. The Blessed Mother has done great, miraculous things for me because of my devotion to her. I have added all of you and your beautiful children to my list of those I prayer for each day. I have been truely touched by this video. God is with you and holy is his name.
My husband had liver cancer and was told he would die in 1-3 months..that was 4 years ago. He no longer has liver cancer. He received a miracle. Start or keep praying the rosary. Devotions and prayers to the Blessed Mother and her son Jesus Christ cured my husband of cancer. Nothing is impossible with the Lord.
God Bless you all.

Hey 46 mommas!!!
My name is Lisa, I'm 16 years old and from Germany. I've never had cancer, but my mom had cancer twice within 7 years and some other serious health problems. Thank God, she's allive and doing good :)
I can't tell you how much I adore you and your work! I can't believe and accept that so many kids and adults die because of a disease like cancer. Everybody has to stand up to cancer to help those who are suffering and also their families!
My mom's doctors also wanted to tell me the percentage of me diagnosed with cancer in some years - this shouldn't be something doctors tell you! doctors should tell people, that there'll be enough medications for people with cancer and everybody will survive it! so the main reason for me to become rich some day is that I want to be able to support charity with money - but also in personal ways! one big part of my future will be fighting against cancer in every possible way - and everything should be possible! no one should be die because of cancer - no one!!!
but I know all this fighting won't bringt back those who already died because of cancer and - I'm unbelieveable sorr for that - but we could save so many lives by doing everything we can!
to be honest right now I can't do a lot for fighting against cancer world wide but I will - promise!
but if there's any way to support or help you I'd try to do it!
I wish you all the best for your future and you are doing so absolutely amazing!!! you are my heroes!!! and I have so much respect for you and I can't stop thinking about you and your families! keep on going!!
with a lot of respect and love,
Lisa

My most beautiful little boy, Conor, was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma (liver cancer) when he was 2. He had 15 months of treatment but on the 22nd July 2006 aged 3 and 3 months he bravely left our side. While he was having treatment my sister and I both shaved our hair raising over $80,000 to do up the oncology ward where he was been treated in Australia. It was a great feeling to raise the money, but it was also a terrific feeling shaving my hair, I LOVED IT! I still, 4 years later, have my hair really short as I can't stand growing it now. I wish you all the best. CANCER does suck and I would do anything to have my precious little man back, I miss him.

I am a long time friend of one of the 46 Mommas (Becky Evreniadis). I am in full support of her and all of you for the work you are doing to bring attention to Childhood Cancers! I applaud you, wear the bracelets to pass around aweareness to the people I know, and hope that with everyone's help we can make this epidemic something that gets more national attention for years to come!

I titled this "LOVE". It has multiple meanings...one, I "LOVE"and respect what you are doing to raise awareness and funds. I will be there with you in spirit, having shared the same 'shoes'. "LOVE" because we all share that same emotion with our children and families. "LOVE" because it sums up PAC2, Team Unite and every other organization out there started by parents to save our children. When Alexa was diagnosed in June of 07, one of the first things I tried to do was to raise awareness. While I haven't done half as much as I wish I could, every little bit helps. What you are all doing is simply amazing! Although I will not be there physically, I will be joining you with tears, smiles, hoots and hollers from our living room in Stony Brook, New York. My heart will be with all of you. You are all an inspiration, but as we know our children, the brave warriors and angels, are the true heroes. Love, hugs and cancer 'FIRIN' wishes always from 'Team Moore' aka Tom, Debb and our fearless leader, Alexa Renee

You girls rock! From one "Momcologist" to another... THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO. Would love to join you, but I'm in my last year of nursing school. I have a whole new respect for my nurses! Maybe one day I can give the same HOPE to a mom that my nurses gave to me during Kate's journey. With you in spirit.... Mary

Hi everyone,
We are so glad to be able to present this site, and hope that each person who visits here leaves with a better understanding of how to help this dreadful statistic.

We ARE 46 Mommas on a mission to raise awareness, raise funds for research and inspire others to help fund a cure for childhood cancer.
Each year a new class of 46 Mommas is inducted into the cause to empower and engage mothers of children with cancer. The number 46 is significant. On average, each weekday, 46 families receive the news that their child has cancer. Through increasing awareness of childhood cancer and raising funds for childhood cancer research by shaving our heads, we hope to one day be a group that no longer needs to exist.
